Our political leaders are not the only ones who carry the responsibility of national security reform. It is the duty of all who have a stake in its benefits, and it cannot be sustained without their partnership and cooperation with this end in mind. A critical mass of committed leaders must come together from across society in a well-organized, well-funded, collaborative effort to execute the ambitious but essential task of re-envisioning national security and reforming the present system.   PNSR and its partners are building the platform to host such an alliance, a social network where concerned patriots can come together to re-imagine a better future and drive positive change for America and the world at large.

The Alliance for National Security Transformation (ANST) brings together government and non-government leaders committed to transcending partisan politics and bureaucratic inertia to support the Obama administration and future administrations in carrying out mission critical reforms. Leaders from private enterprise, NGOs, academic institutions, foundations, civil society, and international organizations will unite to develop an agenda for reform behind which they can mobilize. Progress will be made over time by members working simultaneously on different activities such as:

- Co-creating an expanded, inclusive vision for national security in the 21st Century;

- Working together to rebalance budget priorities and allocations;

- Serving as champion for national security reform;

- Partnering on an innovative reform project;

- Funding existing or new projects;

- Participating in public education/regional dialogues; and

- Recruiting new partners.

Securing America's Future Summit

In the summer of 2011, America’s brightest and most innovative thought leaders, implementers and decision makers will come together to launch the Alliance with the Summit for Securing America’s Future. With the theme “Creating a World that Works for Everyone,” the Summit will shape a non-partisan vision for the national security system of the 21st Century and set the agenda for reform. Based on the foundation of Forging a New Shield, Turning Ideas into Action and other seminal reports, summit participants will work together to:

The Summit will be designed to raise each participant’s level of awareness and optimize their collective decision-making abilities, through the use of best of available collective intelligence, design, facilitation and technology. During the Summit, Alliance members will make specific and measurable commitments for action that will be translated into practical goals with meaningful and measurable results and reported to the alliance over time.
